Liverpool Walks for groups

"3 Medieval Streets"

Theme: A guided walk through three of Liverpool's original medieval streets: Chapel, Old Hall and Tithebarn Streets.

Starting at St Nicholas; churchyard, we will go back to the founding of Liverpool when it had but seven streets and we will hear how the chapel has developed since the C13. Then, we will walk through 3 of these streets: Chapel Street, Old Hall Street and Tithebarn Street. During the walk we will learn about the important role played by Liverpool in the American Civil War and the unofficial Confederate Embassy in the city, about the cotton trade and its legacy, the importance of the canal and later, the railway, to the city, the story of the hall that gave Old Hall Street its name and see some of the regeneration work going on in this area.

Duration: The walk will last approx. one and a half hours to two hours

All walks will go ahead regardless of the weather. Please wear suitable footwear and bring a rainproof. We aim to take every care of your safety but you are reminded that you always walk at your own risk

This walk is one of several that can be booked by groups, societies, and clubs—don’t hesitate to enquire for full list.
