"Literary Walk

Liverpool Entente Cordiale Tours presents a guided walk about writers from Liverpool and those from outside the city who have written about us.

Learn what writers throughout the centuries, from Dickens himself to Bill Bryson, have said about our city. Discover the Bronte connection with the city and find out which famous visiting writer became hooked on Molly Bushell’s Everton Toffees! This walk, led by a official, qualified and insured Liverpool guide will cover authors of classics and more popular books, from days gone by up to today.

Duration: The walk will last approx. two to two and a half hours and includes some up-hill walking.

What was Dickens doing at this police
station in the heart of Liverpool's
dangerous sailor town one night
in 1860?
Most come for the Beatles connection but what about the Mark Twain, Dickens and "Her Benny" links?

What "enterpreneurial" skills did Bill Bryson admire in this ornate gin palace?

All walks will go ahead regardless of the weather. Please wear suitable footwear and bring a rainproof. We aim to take every care of your safety but you are reminded that you always walk at your own risk

This walk is one of several that can be booked by groups, societies, and clubs—don’t hesitate to enquire for full list.
