A stroll along two of the seven original streets of Liverpool, between the former sites of its castle and its tower.

Artistic Impressions of Liverpool Castle and the Tower of Liverpool

Starting at the former site of Liverpool Castle, we stroll along Castle Street and Water Street to finish at the former site of the Tower of Liverpool, waterfront stronghold of the Earls of Derby. En-route we admire some of the Victorian and 1930's "commercial palaces" as well as the Georgian Town Hall.  We learn about the important role played by banking and insurance in Liverpool's rise to glory and World Heritage status, and the rather less glorious role it played in a notorious murder. We will also go back in time to the Civil War when Liverpool was besieged by Prince Rupert, before ending at the former site of the Tower of Liverpool.
